Our Mission

At Luz de la Luna Services, we believe in the power of community connection and healing through the centering of hope. Our mission is to provide compassionate peer support to individuals on their journey to wellness. We offer a safe and inclusive space where clients can explore their emotions, receive support, and feel less alone on their journey.

Hi, I'm Stephanie!

woman in concrete fort area

I am here for those of you that don't feel understood, that may be feeling alone in your journey. For those of you that feel that having an empathetic, non judgmental person in their corner would make a difference to their situation or challenge.

We may be surrounded by friends and family but lacking a space that feels like our own to be heard. We may struggle to be seen or truly accepted by those closest to us leaving us feeling like we are on our own to face these challenges.

I know first hand it can be scary to feel like you are alone while navigating the additional challenges of parenting, pregnancy, and life as a neurodivergent queer person

Trauma disrupted who I was as a person and as a parent I had to face what was no longer working for me.

This is my why.

I want to walk alongside folks as they navigate similar challenges because I know it can be hard without support, and without someone validating your experiences. The world we live in today is one of systematic oppression and is dominated by white supremacy designed to stifle our connection to one another.

I believe that through community we can connect, heal and take our power back. Sharing our stories, how we overcome challenges and connecting is restorative. This is the work my soul was called to do. I want to support folks who are needing a safe space to plan for birth, make mental health goals, process birth/postpartum and more.

I have lived experience as a Latinx queer immigrant, survivor, and am a chronically ill parent with a rare connective tissue disorder.

I am passionate about providing peer support to LGBTQIA+ parents, BIPOC/Latinx/Spanish speaking, immigrant parents, parents who are survivors of trauma.

Within my peer space I provide strength based peer support, and compassionate parent education on various topics (mental health, navigating mental health services, special education/Early intervention services, Birth/Postpartum, child development), resource and referral navigation.

As your certified peer counselor I can support you by:

  • Listening, and offering a judgment free space

  • Offering trauma informed emotional support during challenges

  • Wellness/Goal planning and support

  • Honoring your experience, using your pronouns, preferred name/title and providing inclusive resources

  • Navigation of resources and referrals

  • Centering hope through discussion of shared peer experiences, and community connection

  • Acknowledging systematic oppression/white supremacy/patriarchy  and its effects on BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities
